Short answer: Brazilian law gives full legal standing (fé pública) to translations by a "tradutor e intérprete público" registered with a Junta Comercial (Law 14.195/2021, article 27). For Malaysian documents there is also a route from Malaysia: the Embassy of Brazil in Kuala Lumpur authenticates certified translations made in Malaysia after Wisma Putra, and it has authenticated translations we prepared. Unless the Brazilian office specifically asks for a Brazilian public translator, the document and its translation can be made ready together in Malaysia.
What we do: certified translation, Wisma Putra attestation and authentication at the Brazilian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, so the document and its translation are ready to use in Brazil. Send your document on WhatsApp.

The rules
Public translators. Brazilian law gives public faith to translations by a "tradutor e intérprete público".
Registered in Brazil. A public translator must "ter registro na junta comercial do local de seu domicílio ou de atuação mais frequente" (article 22).
Embassy authentication. The Embassy of Brazil in Kuala Lumpur authenticates certified translations made in Malaysia, after Wisma Putra. It has authenticated translations we prepared.
Original attached. The original-language document must accompany its translation (article 27, paragraph 2).
Legalise first, then translate
Have the Malaysian document and its certified translation attested at Wisma Putra and authenticated by the Brazilian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur before they go to Brazil. See legalisation for Brazil.
Documents in English
Most Malaysian degrees, transcripts, the Certificate of Good Conduct and many company documents are in English. If the Brazilian office asks for a translation, we prepare it and have it authenticated together with the document.
Documents in Malay
Documents in Malay need a translation. We translate them and have the translation authenticated by the Brazilian Embassy together with the original.
Informações em português (Brasil)
No Brasil, têm fé pública as traduções feitas por tradutor e intérprete público registrado em junta comercial. Para documentos malaios, a Embaixada do Brasil em Kuala Lumpur também autentica traduções certificadas feitas na Malásia, depois da legalização no Ministério das Relações Exteriores da Malásia (Wisma Putra). O documento original deve acompanhar a tradução.
Common questions
Can MYLegalTrans prepare the translation?
Yes. We prepare certified translations and have them authenticated by the Embassy of Brazil in Kuala Lumpur after Wisma Putra, together with the documents.
Should the document be translated before or after legalisation?
Before. We translate the document first, so that Wisma Putra and the Brazilian Embassy authenticate the document and its translation together.
Is an English Malaysian document accepted without translation in Brazil?
Not usually for official use, because Brazilian offices work in Portuguese. Tell us which office will receive it, and we prepare the translation and have it authenticated with the document.
